DSM rims are known to be 'softer' than their hub mounted counterparts, and are nowadays less common in use. However, that isn't to say they aren't useful!
How to know if you have a hub mount or spindle mount rim? Look at the mounting area...do you see a bolt pattern or holes to go around studs on a hub? If not, you probably have a direct spindle mount rim!
