Ceramic hybrid wheel and hub bearings for racing go karts by Kart Master. These bearings are designed to fit within the wheel hubs for racing karts, and provide a low-drag solution for kart racers looking for the extra edge on track!

Available in several sizes, Kart Master's ceramic hybrid bearings are designed with upgraded materials and tighter tolerances when compared to common industry bearings.

Overview

Choosing the right bearings for your kart is a crucial decision to make. When you choose ceramic bearings over standard, you are choosing to minimize rolling resistance within the drive train of the kart. Imagine spending money and time on a nice engine and still running standard bearings! That's like having a tiny brake at each corner of your kart applied to your powertrain the whole time - not good. Upgrading to ceramic bearings, considering the investment versus return, is about as close to 'free horsepower' as you're going to get!

Depending on your kart, the size and type of bearing utilized in your wheel hubs can vary significantly. For most karts, wheel hub bearings are either a 17mm or 25mm in inner diameter type. However, outer diameter as well as overall bearing width can vary noticeably.

Fortunately Kart Master has a healthy variety of bearing sizes and options available to suit your karting needs!

Selecting the Right Bearing

Selecting the right size bearing for your kart is critical to being happy with the fitment and result. If the bearing doesn't fit the wheel hub or wheel correctly, it can't do its job properly. Kart Master has a variety of front wheel hub and (in the case of spindle mounted wheels) wheel bearings available:

-25mm Bearings:

  • 25 x 42 x 12mm Bearings: These bearings are ideal for "OTK" style wheel hubs. Primarily, these will fit Tony Kart, Kosmic, Exprit, FA, etc. type wheel hubs for karts that utilize 25mm OD spindles. Most full-size OTK-type karts will utilize these wheel bearings. The overall width of these bearings is 12.0mm.
  • 25 x 42 x 9mm Bearings: These bearings are standard across most racing karts that utilize 25mm front spindles. The overall width of these bearings if 9.0mm.

-17mm Bearings:

  • 17 x 35 x 10.0mm Bearings: These bearings are designed to fit the majority of wheel hubs that fit on 17.0mm spindles. More common on mid-2000's racing karts, or cadet and Kid Kart chassis.

Kart Master Ceramic vs. Standard Bearings

Kart Master's bearings are designed to a higher standard than generic bearings found in most karts from the factory. Each bearing is manufactured to have a C3-grade tolerance, which allows for thermal expansion as the bearing revolves, minimizing drag during operation.

Additionally, Kart Master's bearings feature a high-durability 52100 steel within the outer races - the industry standard of alloy for high-performance bearings. Rubber seals enhance the bearing's chances of minimizing dirt or dust intrusion into the bearing (compared to plastic seals on most bearings).

Kart Master also manufactures their bearings to P6 levels of precision, which ensures minimized runout or oscillation compared to common kart bearings.

Each bearing is sold individually. Almost all wheels or wheel hubs require (2) bearings.
